Jim Knight, president of the Instructional Coaching Group, is a research associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. He has spent more than a decade studying instructional coaching. On April 29, 2015, at Buena Vista University, he will provide a definition of what instructional coaching is, describe what coaches do, distinguish between effective and ineffective coaching practices, and provide an overview of the current state of research on coaching.

He will address High Impact Instruction which provides instructional coaches a framework to use with teachers focused around content planning, instruction, community building, and assessment for learning. This workshop is also designed to support leaders of coaches who are intent upon creating effective and successful coaching programs.

This event is hosted by Northwest AEA and Prairie Lakes AEA. More details will follow.
