General and special education teachers with building/district administrators are invited to attend "Explicit Instruction for Improved Student Learning" presented by Anita Archer, PhD. The presentation is part of the Northwest Iowa Leadership Academy conference series.
Educators have the same goal: to help students make the maximum possible academic gains in a positive,
respectful environment that promotes their success and nurtures their desire to learn. One of the greatest tools available in this pursuit is explicit instruction—instruction that is systematic, direct, engaging, and success-oriented. The effectiveness of explicit instruction has been validated again and again in research involving both general education and special education students. While it has proven to be very helpful for normally progressing students, it is essential for students with learning challenges.
The presentation will take place on:
March 20, 9-3:30 - Fort Dodge Prairie Lakes AEA Office
March 21, 9-3:30 - Cherokee WIT Building
March 22, 9-3:30 - Sioux City, Central Baptist Church, 4001 Indian Hills Drive
