Students with disabilities and special needs are invited to attend a free workshop (including lunch) featuring LeDerick Horne, a nationally known speaker, poet and advocate. The day will also include other presentations about living, learning and working after high school. The goal is to help students build communication skills, develop a clear understanding of their abilities and learn how to access accommodations in their future environments.

The dates will be:

March 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon

or

March 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City

All students must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact your AEA team with any questions.

Space is limited. To register, contact Joyce Vander Wilt at jvanderwilt@nwaea.org or 800/572-5073. If a student needs adult supervision, please talk to Joyce during registration.
