Northwest AEA will host a conference on Nov. 6 for special education students and their parents and educators about living, learning and working beyond high school. The event will take place at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. Alex Watters will be the keynote speaker. Alex is a northwest Iowa native, who, two weeks into his freshman year at Morningside College, experienced an accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Listen to how his drive, determination and passion fueled him to do things some thought were not possible.

The event will take place at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided and there is no cost to attend. However, students must be accompanied by a teacher or parent.
