Northwest AEA is in its second year of implementing the Instructional Coach model in the schools. The AEA's model includes instructional coaches to support general education and special education strategists to support special education teachers and students with IEPs.

Research has indicated that the biggest factor for improving student achievement is to enhance instructional practices in the classroom. This new model is designed to bring support and best practices to individual classrooms throughout Northwest AEA.
