Educators, parents, healthcare providers, students and community members are encouraged to explore Northwest AEA's newly re-designed website to learn about and access the agency's services. The redesign was complete in July, just in time for the 2014-15 school year.

Liz Determan, communications coordinator, initiated the new site design after reviewing customer feedback from annual surveys.

"Northwest AEA's new website should eliminate multiple clicks and will be easier to navigate because we have more readily identified the most popular links and services accessed by past visitors," Determan explained. "The left navigation will guide users to their destination more succinctly and the top headings can also direct visitors according to their role."

In addition to the welcome area and top navigation, visitors will find a calendar of events, professional development classes, social media feeds, blogs, an AEA district map and the AEA staff directory, to name a few.

"AEAs literally offer dozens and dozens of services to Iowa families and schools, which is ideal for our patrons; but, it can be overwhelming to sift through the volume of offerings," said Determan. "The most important thing we want to convey through the website is that we are one phone call away—let us know your questions, and we will pair you with very caring, compassionate and competent people to help."
