Inspiring Learning.

Changing Lives.

Another new school year is underway and the staff at Northwest AEA look forward to building upon our mission of providing visionary leadership and quality, student-centered services to the educators and families that we serve. Distilled to four words, our agency focus is Inspiring Learning. Changing Lives.

We doubled our staffing in the area of behavior supports as a response to the growing need expressed by teachers and administrators. The expanded staffing should provide quicker access to needed supports, leading to improved student behavior and changed lives. We also have been able to expand our Youth Mental Health First Aid training, thanks to the Iowa Legislature, bringing YMHFA to educators at local public and non-public schools alike.

In October, we are co-sponsoring the Leadership in Education conference at Northwestern College in Orange City, inspiring learning in three big areas: leading teams, building relationships, and supporting social emotional and mental health. We hope that you or a team from your school can attend.

If you are a new teacher or administrator in Northwest AEA, this short video showcases the services we provide to teachers and schools. From professional learning to job-embedded support, Northwest AEA is here to inspire learning and change lives.

Have a great school year!
