The field of Early Childhood Education is developing rapidly. In the last five years the general community has become increasingly aware of the impact of early experiences on young children. With that awareness has come expectations for high quality outcomes for children as well as programs, teaching staff and curriculum.

High quality early childhood education requires ongoing professional development.  The following professional development in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment is being provided this year through NWAEA:
•The Intentional Teacher: focus on Positive Behavior Support
    •Every Child Reads
•Observation and Assessment of Young Children
    •Mathematics for Preschool Children
    •Science Activities for Young Children
•Creative Curriculum or High/Scope Curriculum for Preschool
    •Quality Preschool Program Standards
    •Iowa Early Learning Standards
    •C.L.A.S.S. (Classroom Assessment Scoring System)
    •Parent/School Relationships
