Spring is here and summer is fast approaching. It is time when more outdoor play happens everyday. These outside experiences allow children to take some risks by exploring movement as they are engaging in taking a walk, planting and caring for a garden, using playground equipment, and playing games with others. Have you thought of having meals outside as “picnics”? Can you take a nap under a tree or on a blanket on the deck? Reading under a tree adds new senses (smells and noise of outdoor) to the plot of the book. Keep the outdoor area as part of the activities as you explore ways to engage children in learning experiences. So many things you do inside CAN EASILY be completed outside and it adds so much to the experience!
