Try This:
Start following a few blogs related to education. When you find something you find interesting, sign up using your email. When there is a new post, you will get an email. It's quite simple and it keeps you updated with what's going on in the world of education. Here are some of my favorites:
http://www.justintarte.com/
http://franmcveigh.wordpress.com/ (she's from an AEA in Iowa)
http://www.teachingthecore.com/ (one of my favorites on the Common Core. He makes it so easy to understand. Uses humor too!)
http://principalreflections.wordpress.com/ (from a principal- very good)
