Why Do You Do What You Do?

Think about the strategies and routines you do in your classroom.  Why do you do those specific ones?  How did you come to choose what you do?  Is it because you've observed someone else doing them?  Is it because an administrator/coach asked you to try it?  Did you find it on Teachers Pay Teachers?  Does it go along with your theory of learning?

I highly recommend reading research and reports on strategies and routines you use or may be looking into.  I think understanding the strategy/routine at a deeper level and why it works is so important.  The more you read you'll be making those connections between strategies/routines/authors, etc.
