I had a colleague email me asking me how to schedule Zoom meetings (kind of like Google Hangouts or Skype). Instead of emailing her step by step directions, I decided to try to do a screen cast. A screen cast records your computer screen and shows a picture of you in the corner talking. My video was 2 minutes long, I uploaded it to Youtube, and sent her the link. Much easier and quicker.
There's so much we do on the computer. Think of all the ways you could use this cool tool! Directions on how to do something (like I did), giving a mini-lesson, having student's "show" how to do something on the computer. What else?
Here's the site I used. It's very easy to use and has a short how-to video. http://screencast-o-matic.com/
