1. The time for turning in tests for ELDA is nearing. Remember that April 30 is supposed to be the day that all I-ELDA test are returned.
Thank you for your help in getting this work done.
2. SAVE THE DATE> There is are major changes in the time and place for the Iowa Culture and Language Conference (ICLC). The dates for this event will be moved to November 1-3, 2010. This is being done to try to reduce the chances of bad weather that has been a constant problem for the February meeting time. The location will be at the Marriott in Coralville Iowa. This facility is self-contained, and may be the most attractive conference setting in Iowa. While the conference center is further from the Northwest AEA region, the benefits in terms of cost to put on the conference, room rates, and the convenience of having the hotel rooms and meeting rooms in the same facility were seen to more than offset the extra miles for those of us in this part of the state will have to drive in order to attend.
This will be the 25th year for the ICLC. The preliminary list of presenters is both large and well known in the state and across the country for their work with ELL students. When the final agreements with the speakers are finalized the list of presenters will be published here and sent out to those who have attended in the past.
