Feedback plays an important role in both student and educator development. The recent ASCD article by Esther Ntuli, Seven Characteristics (and Six Tools) That Support Meaningful Feedback, describes characteristics and tools to support feedback for students. They are great tips to keep in mind as we partner with teachers.

We also encourage you to take a look at the 7 characteristics with your Teacher Leader lens. What role do they play with adult learners - whether it be teachers, coaches, administrators, etc.? The article provides descriptions, as well as research ties to the following 7 characteristics.

  • Constructive
  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Sensitive
  • Balanced
  • Applicable
  • Not Grade Focused

The article concludes with Technology Tools that Support Instant and Elaborative Feedback, again with students. How could these tools be utilized with adult learners? Do you know of other tools? Share your ideas in the comment section below.
