I have been reading the book Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Really Works by Howard Pitler. This book links many classroom instructional practices with technology that is available for classroom use. It gives ideas and examples of how to use different technologies from the elementary level to the high school level.

I am a visual learner, so the thing I love about this book is that it gives actual computer screen shots of the ideas they talk discuss in the book. You can then visually see what they are explaining and what it might look like in a real lesson. This book has great examples of how to use e-mail to interact with parents, how to use Microsoft Word or Excel in a classroom, or how to incorporate and use an interactive whiteboard. The examples and websites they give are great resources for any level teacher! It’s a great book to read cover to cover, or to just use as a resource.

See the Resource page to find out how you can own this book!

Great sounding resource, I think we should use this with our tech group. Happy to see your blog and find out all the new and current tech ideas you have going on!

I am glad our book resonates with you. We are in the process of updating the resource to include things that weren't available in 2007, like Voicestream, diigo, Google Wave and other. Stay tuned.

Great to hear about a good book on technology and instruction. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!
