As more and more schools use tablets to supplement and even replace computers, finding good apps becomes significant. Now there's a way that Northwest AEA media resources can support your need for apps to support your curriculum.  Northwest AEA media has always regarded our online resources to be significant resources for student learning. Presently, many of the online resources also have apps available to make access easier for students. Here's a summary of available apps:

  • Northwest AEA media is providing a collection of eBooks to our schools through MackinVia MackinVia has an app available so students can search for and read eBooks on their tablets. Mackin is working on a smartphone app as well, but currently supports most tablet use. Download these instructions to help you get started.
  • Atomic Learning has an app. Remember that Atomic Learning is a resource that will help teachers and students successfully use different applications and technology.
  • Gale Resources also has an app called Access My Library.  It's possible to have easy access to resource materials such as journals and reference books using this app. Instructions will be available soon.
  •  FreedomFlix doesn't have an app you download, but access to these Social Studies read-along eBooks and videos works on your tablet using your browser.

If you have questions feel free to contact Debby Berthelsen or Pam Buysman at Northwest AEA.
