Northwest AEA English Learner (EL) Team provides visionary leadership and quality, student-centered services through relationships with families, schools and communities.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Northwest AEA English Learner (EL) Team is to collaborate and consult with educators so they are able to help English Learners develop and enhance the linguistic, cognitive, diversity, and self-concept skills necessary to develop high levels of academic proficiency in core academic subjects for success in school and the community.

Northwest AEA consultants and staff provide resources to English Language Learner (ELL) teachers, administrators and classroom teachers including curriculum resources, teaching strategies and assessment assistance. 

The 2015-2016 TELPA link to training and ordering information has been successfully posted on the Iowa Department of Education website. Once you are on the website go to A-Z index, click on "English Language Learners" and scroll to the blue box labeled English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA21). Note: TELPA is in the last paragraph as a live link to the training and ordering information.
Anyone administering TELPA must train on an annual basis.
